I am a medical marijuana patient and neuroscientist who has studied the effects of drugs on the brain for years. In October on 2013 I moved into a poorly maintained 1920's apartment with unihabitable levels of lead and mold and became bedridden and in level 10 pain daily. It took until the summer to determine the apartment was making me sick. Not only did I lose my health, but I lost all my belongings due to contamination. I ended up moving from Los Angeles to Denver to get better health care.
In Decemember of 2014 I almost died from multiple massive pulmonary embolisms (blood clots in my lungs) and a DVT in my left leg. My lung collapsed, my heart was stressed, and I was so weak I was in a wheel chair with an oxygen tank for 3 months. I credit vaping cannabis with healing my lungs and helping me move to a walker and then to a cane.
I now have permanent nerve damage, fibromyalgia, anxiety and depression from the toxins I was exposed to. I am sensitive to most foods, and have to use cannabis 24/7 for my muscles to stop spasming and hurting. I use yoga and daily affirmations to keep me positive and live through loss.
