26th May 2007 I received an avulsion fracture to the bottom lip of my tibia thanks to some prat on an off road/scrambler type motorbike. Plaster took off after 6 weeks then p/t but in the mean time I kept on spraining it a lot. So it didn't heal like it should have properly. Got reffered to an Orthopaedic foot and ankle surgeon, then and MRI scan showed a torn ligment in my ankle so had an operation to repair it in June 2008. After that I broke the same piece of tibia off 2 more times, then yet another operation but, first got reffered to an independant surgeon for a second opinion on what they would do next.
To cut a long story short I had yet another operation on ankle in May 2009 taking a tendon from the side of my ankle drill a hole through a bone and stretching that around my ankle to see if that would work. To stop me going over on it again so easily and keep spraining it and causing more damage to it. Then I also started developing osteoarthritis in it, am up to grade 3 already that is why I am due to have subtalar joint fusion operation soon. Have got to go to the Hospital tomorrow for my pre-op assessment 20th May 2011. Don't know yet when I will be ahving it done but will keep you all posted with further news when I receive it myself.
I mean what I would like to know is how big will the plaster be? Below the knee or up to the thigh? Also how long does the operation take to perform I got told 1 and a half hours, has anyone's ...
