I was living life blindly. I was working 60+ hours a week and unhappy. The only bright spot in my life was my weekly time in the potter studio. And while I dreamed of being a full-time artist, it was just a dream.
A 2-week pottery camp in Italy changed all that. I was completely hooked and wanted more. And things started falling in place. I got a residency position and got approval to work part-time. Perfect.
Except 2 weeks after these changes, another change arrived. Tingling. Numbness. Within months I would be diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. That was 18 months ago.
I wasn't satisfied with the medical prognosis - take these drugs, don't work so hard, hope for the best. No, I wanted to empower myself. So I began to educate myself. I learned about an alkaline diet. I studied and practiced yoga and meditation.
My personal results were profound - symptom-free, more energy, I lost 40 pounds and the MS lesions had retreated. I realized that while art fed my soul, I was called to help empower others. I returned to school and became a holistic health coach. I empowered myself and love empowering others to heal.
