Laura describes how she is treated since losing 200 pounds and provides her personal tip for other, over 50 women who want to lose weight.
Laura:
You know, I remember recently something about losing weight in my professional life and how I realize, and I don’t think it’s just me, but how people take me more seriously and they actually listen to what I am saying more judging on looks.
I know that when I was heavy people judge you when you first walk in and they may not think you are the smartest person or someone that’s, you know, lazy, and that has changed in my personal life and in my professional life. People just take me more seriously.
You know, I would like to give advice to other women who are struggling with their weight and really the message that I want to get out there is those of you who are over 50, like I was, and have a lot of weight to lose, which I did, don’t give up and think you can’t do it. You have to make the decision to do it and live healthy and live on for you and your family.

You're so right about it taking time. Patience is a difficult art form to practice.

I found that exercising was not the scariest thing ever when I was losing weight. It helped my weight loss a great deal and I even came to miss it on days I couldn't do it. Walking was a big thing for me. Strength training was huge, too. It made me feel empowered, as well as healthier. (Commercial link removed by moderator.)
