Dr. Gonzalez:

A caregiver can be active with the patient. Activity is very important after surgery. We walk some of our patients the same day of surgery, and everybody is walking the next day after surgery. So a caregiver, instead of serving the patient and bringing them everything, they will encourage him to walk, walk with them, be active with them and participate in the recovery.
