It may surprise you to learn that every time you pick up your office phone, you may be coming into contact with up to 25,000 bacteria. According to a LifeScript.com article, your office desk and computer keyboard could be harboring many of the same bacteria as well.

So when’s the last time you disinfected your office? Think about it--you often may eat in front of your computer or at your desk, you may cough, you sneeze. Where do you think those germs go? Do they just disappear? No, they hang out.

The article even pointed out that women’s desks can be up to three times worse than men’s desks, because women often store personal items like cosmetics, and food in their desks. These things breed bacteria.

The solution? Wipe down your desk phone and other surfaces in your office regularly to avoid getting becoming sick.
