Women juggle extremely busy lifestyles. With work, families and other obligations, it can be difficult to stay healthy.

Falling into bad habits, such as not working out or eating foods without the proper nutrients, can affect women, causing them to feel sluggish and not at their best.

Poor lifestyle choices can put individuals at risk for different health conditions, such as obesity and heart disease.

Actress Nia Vardalos knows what it is like to have a busy lifestyle: as an actress, writer, wife and mother, she has a hectic schedule. But she also knows how important it is to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Making the right choices gives her the energy she needs to get through the day. That is why she has partnered with “Life ... supplemented,” a consumer wellness campaign dedicated to helping Americans achieve overall wellness through the “Three Pillars of Health” -- healthy diet, supplements and exercise.

Each of these pillars alone is important for being healthy. For example, regular exercise can help increase good cholesterol and decrease bad triglycerides, according to the MayoClinic.com. But all together, they can help individuals optimize their health.

If living a well-balanced lifestyle has been on the bottom of your to-do list, it is never too late to get back on track. Nia suggested taking it one step at a time, such as talking to your doctor about which supplements you should add to your routine, starting a new exercise regime, or eating healthier foods.

It is just about getting started, and once you get one of these steps under your belt, it can be easier to incorporate the other two pillars of health into your lifestyle.

One tip Nia gave to stay on track is be prepared. Keep healthy foods in your home, keep your vitamins or supplements in your purse, and set a schedule for when you are going to exercise. That way, even if you have had a long day, you can still stick to your healthy routine.
