Ouch! I woke up this morning to a freezing cold ice bath! I was reaching to put an icepack on my head and the whole thing broke open, showering me with ice cold water all over my body and bed. Thank goodness the nurse’s assistant was just leaving the room so she could help me out of the soaking mess and into my robe right away.

I am starting to feel the side effects from the chemo. My head is pounding horribly and I already feel nauseated. I asked the nurse for some zophran and dilauded, hopefully that will help out a little.

My friend Tina just told me that a mutual friend of ours has a baby with some kind of spinal cancer. The poor baby is on the same kind of drugs that I am on for pain, so I know how the little boy must be feeling. I can’t imagine being the mother of the child…I would feel so helpless. With a baby, they can’t express what us adults can except for the changes in their cries for help. It seems like all I hear about now is people that have had or have cancer. It is everywhere! I had no idea how it effects so many people!

A couple of Kim’s family members stopped in to say hi yesterday and gave me an update on Kim’s progress. Apparently she fell yesterday while attempting to go to the bathroom and accidentely pulled out her port and feeding tube. She had to get both put in again. It sounded like she was up for doing chemo so the docs want to make sure she has enough strength in her to fight off the side effects. I think she may even get to go home for a couple of days prior. I know there is a girl that is selling candles to raise $$ for Kim. Your can learn more by going to her blog http://kimfightscancer.blogspot.com/

I just found out that we are moving forward with the Cancer Fighters Thrive interview. I gave them the time of 10:30am to call. That’s right, I guess the magazine called “Cancer Fighters Thrive” wants to do an article on me, so they will have a photographer take photos and tomorrow we will be doing a conference call for the interview. The magazine is National and has a subscription base of 50,000. More to come later….
