oh--and the sex you had before your "period" was actually protected sex (protected from pregnancy), as long as you have been using your birth control consistently and correctly. Unprotected sex means you are not protected from pregnancy or STD/STI (sexually transmitted disease or infection). You had unprotected sex from STDs, but protected from pregnancy. Does that make sense?
