If I am reading your initial question correctly, you had your withdrawal bleeding (also called a period) during the week of inactive pills as you expected.

You had unprotected sex after your withdrawal bleeding/ inactive week of pills, correct?

If that is correct, you would need to wait until your next week of inactive pills (about 12-14 days after unprotected sex) to know if you are pregnant or not.

You can experience breakthrough bleeding in-between "periods" (withdrawal bleeding when on the pill) when you miss pills, and this is not a good indicator of being pregnant or not.

One side note: it's not stupid at all! Many people have sex without a prior intention. I think it is important to know that you ARE sexually active...that does not mean you are ACTING on being sexually active at every moment. Telling yourself that you are not sexually active kind of gives yourself permission to skip pills. Knowing that you are a sexually active person, and that there is nothing wrong with this, it is your choice when, where, how, etc., is empowering because you know you can take your pills every day knowing you are protected. Does that make sense? Just because you are not having sex during one week or one month does not mean you are not sexually active...you are a sexually active human being, so remember to take your pills! And, if you forget (as all women do), just don't have intercourse unless there is a condom available. If no condom, then there are lots of other fun things to do sexually! :)

Does that answer your question about the withdrawal bleeding part?
