Hi Sammay3233,
Thanks for your question, and for finding EmpowHER. Unfortunately, or fortunately--depending on how you look at it--symptoms of pregnancy can be pretty similar to those for your period coming. Our cycles can range from month-to-month, and can change in intensity at any time, depending on stress, sickness, hormones, etc. That said, the surest way to know if you're pregnant is to wait for that missed period, then take a pregnancy test. Try and not be too stressed out while waiting. Many suggest waiting until a week after missing your period. So if you don't get it, take another test. At that time, you can decide if it warrants a visit with your doctor. And in the future, you can protect yourself from anxiously awaiting for your period by being diligent about birth control. If you are sexually active, you should be responsible and do what you can to keep yourself from getting pregnant if you're not ready for that, and from getting infected with STDs.
Good luck and let us know how you're doing.
