Hi anonymous,

Fat pad atrophy is when the heel of your foot loses its fat that cushions the feet and when this wears thin, it will cause a great deal of pain. It mainly depends on how severe the wear is on your feet. Have you been previously treated for your pain and/or had cushions placed in your shoes? There is also surgical option.

Morton's syndrome again is usually treatable with prescription inserts which provides additional support for your arches (to include the flat feet). Each one of these issues must be treated by a physician to closely monitor the loss of the fatty tissue in the heel as well as the flat feet and longer toe. There are surgical options for each of these issues.

Have you seen a physician? What did he/she say?
