I suggest you ask your obstetrician before taking any medications, even herbal or over the counter meds.
How is your sleep hygiene? Meaning there are a lot of things we do that can aid or disturb our own sleep patterns. Things you can do to help you sleep better are:
-Wake up and go to bed at the same time each day.
-No TV or computer near bedtime.
-Go outside and get early morning light in your face, it helps reset your internal clock.
-No heavy food near bedtime.
-Warm bath before bed, then keep the bedroom slightly cool.
-No alcohol or stimulants after early afternoon, so no coffee, tea or soda with caffeine.
-Avoid exercise near bedtime.
-Avoid sleeping during the day.
These steps may help you sleep a little better, but if the problem persists it is worth talking to the ob. Hormones can have an effect on sleep patterns, but since you had the problem before, it may be partially habit.
