Hi Importgirl,

The rule of thumb about ovulation is 14 days after the first day of your period which would take you around the 15th or so of September. There is also a rule of thumb that anytime you have sex, you certainly risk the chance of pregnancy as every woman is different. Since you had sex yesterday and if you have any concern for pregnancy, you are still in the window of opportunity for an emergency contraceptive called Plan B. Here is the website for more information http://www.planbonestep.com/.

Plan B should be taken within 72 hours of unprotected or questionably unprotected sex (as in the condom broke). This may help ease your concern and you still have time. Usually after you take Plan B, you will experience irregular periods for your next two cycles so plan accordingly for the next couple months.

Does this help answer your question?
