I know what you mean, but over the past few years I have answered dozens of questions weekly from women who can not fathom why their period is late-- or even missed completely!-- with no pregnancy, no medical conditions.

It is great that you are going in for a medical evaluation, to rule out any possible medical condition. In the meantime, you can just know that our bodies are not like clockwork; we are constantly reacting and interacting with our environments, and our hormones can change/alter just slightly enough to "cause" a change in bleeding pattern (menstrual cycle). I know it's unsettling to not know, but excessive stress, recent illness, new medication, any change in the environment really can effect your menstrual cycle.

Please let us know how your medical appointment goes, and if you receive any additional information!
