Thanks for your question and for finding EmpowHER. What type of fertility test are you talking about? Did you do an ovulation predictor you bought at a local store, or did your doctor perform a fertility test? It will help us to know so we may be able to better answer your question.
If you are talking about the home tests, what you are referring to is two different tests. One is predicting the ability to get pregnant (ovulation), and the other is detecting pregnancy hormones in your system. Hope that makes sense.
