Birth control pills are only effective in preventing pregnancy if you take the pill consistently and correctly. The effectiveness decreases when you do not take it every day at the same time each.day.

How far into your cycle were you when this happened? If you were ovulating at this time, your risk of being pregnant increases. Your two options are a blood test to determine if you are pregnant.
