If part of your vulva (which includes labia minora, labia majora, clitoris, vaginal opening, etc) is purple and swollen, you may have an infection or a minor injury to this area.

Can you tell us more: did you get hit or fall in such a way that you got some bruising on your vulva? Do you have any itching, unusual discharge from your vagina? How long has this area been purple and swollen? (The stretchy part I am unclear; is the skin stretchy? The skin is supposed to be "stretchy" or "elastic").

If you have an injury or infection, please tell a trusted adult or call your pediatrician yourself, as you may need to have a medical exam to make sure you are OK. It is nothing to be embarrassed by: we all have genitals, and they are just made of skin and muscle that can get injured or become infected like any other part of our body! Your mom has the same genitals you do---and she would want to know if you need to go to the doctor!

We are here to help you answer any additional questions, if you can provide more information about possible causes, how long you have noticed these symptoms, and if you have any other symptoms.
