Thanks for your question. If this nipple pain occurs right around your period, then chances are that it's related to your period. Keep in mind that Fibrocystic Breast Disease will cause pain in your breasts during your cycle.
Most nipple pains at 20 are not cancer-related and your doctor may not schedule a mammogram unless you have a family history of breast cancer. Follow his instructions and then if it doesn't get better bring it up again on your next visit.
