I understand your explanation of your period and it sounds as if there was a possible miscarriage as many of us will have them and they appear to be periods although the blood may be clotted or heavier, etc. I this is only a guess though according to your description. You should always consult your physician.
Periods can be temperamental as you know. Some are stronger than others, weaker that others, sometimes we can even skip months for no reason, etc. If you have any concerns, I would certainly follow up with your treating physician.
