Hi there I had a Subtalar fusion in may of this year. I went back to work as a carer in a nursing home, at the end of September this year. I have orthotics in my shoes and I have to pretty much wear these all the time. I am on my feet all day when at work and still have some pain post 7 months surgery. I still get swelling. The pain is not is the same place as it was when they did the surgery it is actually on top of the foot where the scan did show some arthritis as well. I am still on pain killers while I am at work and think I may have to go back to the doctor prior to march next year when my next visit is. My advice do not rush back to work unless you are 100% fit and feel you can do the tasks especially by the sounds of it you are on your feet and lifting and pulling equipment.
I hope you get better soon.
