When was the first series of x-rays done? What areas of the body were x-rayed? Are the same areas being x-rayed again? Why are five or six x-rays being ordered to be done in one week?
In general, a person will be rescanned every three. six or twelve months to check for any sign of cancer reoccurence. The frequency of monitoring is dependent upon the type of cancer and the aggressive nature of the cancer.
Ask your physician, who is ordering these x-rays, why they are being ordered. Ask if there is any health risk associated with exposure to radiation associated with that number of x-rays.
