I experienced the same thing. If you had a Kidney infection though you would know it and you are right, Susan, you need to go right to hospital. I get all my lower back pain info from one place (I'll put the link below) in terms of exercises and treatments. Like you, I do not like pain meds, so this is an effective alternative.
