Shaving with razors is always a tough one. If you cut yourself - just be sure to keep the area clean until it heals to avoid an infection. If you feel any pain, call your doctor. Electronic razors are often more user friendly. You can find those at your local Wal-Mart.
There are many whitening products on the market. You seem to be using an all natural product and if it works for you - there shouldn't be any issues. As long as you don't have irritation or itching, you should be fine. Let your doctor know what you are using as a whitening product as well. She/he can visually check the area for any concerns.
