I had HerOption done on June 18, 2009. I was give a 5 mg valium that I needed to take 1 hour before the procedure and then give a shot for pain medication just before the procedure. The procedure was done within 20 minutes and was not painful at all. When finished I did have slight crampiness but nothing that 2 Advil did not cure. I was ready to go the next day with no ill side effects. I did have the watery discharge like then said I would in the consent form. I did get my monthly on June 24th. It did not "gush" out like I had read in the other comments, in fact it was watery and it was just spotting. There is a slight smell but that comes along with wearing pads and the air hitting the blood. It is now June 26th and my period is basically gone. Maybe I was a lucky and the procedure worked as it was supposed to. I do need to say that everyone's body is different along with everyone's threshold of pain. To me it was cakewalk and I would highly recommend it.
