I am 3 1/2 weeks post op from having my gallbladder removed. have no problems until 2 days ago. I am now having abdominal pain on right side. CT shows 1 gallstone was left in abdomin and appendix is 7mm thick with no inflammatory changes to either one. Pain is constant but when moving it is a sharp twisting knife like pain. Surgeon & raddiologist can't tll me what is causing pain. Looking at getting 2nd opinion tomorrow as I am unable to function other than lying in bed or sitting in a chair.

Hi Hawk1224,

I'm sorry you're going through this pain. I can't imagine the frustration of doctors not knowing what's going on. It isn't normal to be in pain 3 1/2  weeks after this surgery. The pain could be from the remaining gallstone, but if the surgeon and radiologist can't tell you what's going on, I think you had it right with  a second opinion.

Try to keep up the resting for now, and please keep us updated.

Best of luck,

Danielle.
