Have not had my period for two years and it just decided to come back I am 47, was in the hospital for 6 months due to liver disease and my period stopped. now it wants to come back? doesn't sound good to me

Serious illness can affect a woman's menstrual cycle, periods may become irregular or stop altogether. Assuming you are postmenopausal, you would be correct that any bleeding after 2 years is not normal. Even If you think you are not post-menopausal, it's still a good idea to see your doctor.

Most women reach menopause between the ages of 45 and 55, but menopause may occur earlier or later than these averages.
