tnx maam for a good advice, this delay period made me worried for the past days, it kinda makes me depressed, because i was sexually active, and might get pregnant, even if i know that it was negative, i always find myself think about the consequences of my actions, starting today, i won't stress myself and i'll just wait patiently for my period to come, instead of findind myself, thinking about this, i will just keep my self busy and healty, tnx maam. good day ! i will just let you know if i alreay have my period and it would be the great ! tnx,

(reply to stresss)

Hi,
No---please read what I wrote above. The white discharge is normal throughout your cycle (your cycle is not your period; your period is one part of your cycle. Your cycle is from "Day 1"--the first day of your period-- to the next "first day" of your next period). You have hormones working in your body every day, and every day that is your "cycle".

The discharge is normal for women, and is called cervical mucus. It can also be from sexual arousal.

Does that make more sense?

There is no way to "make" your period begin. I'm so sorry you are worried, but the only thing you can do is wait until your period begins, and trust in your test results. Do something fun to take your mind off of your late period. You most likely will have more late periods in your future, so you can practice now with stress management skills and know that worrying will not make your period come faster. Try to relax, have fun, use this time to reflect on being healthy and taking care of yourself.

I know that's not the answer you were looking for, but you can really use this time while you "wait" for some positive self-reflection, or just relax, or just have fun with your friends! Do you like to write in a diary/journal, draw, paint or do anything creative?

Women have vaginal discharge throughout their cycle, and it is actually called cervical mucus. This cervical mucus changes depending on where you are in your cycle, whether you are ovulating or towards the end or beginning of another cycle. The changes can be subtle, so you would need to know what to look for. I can send you information on cervical mucus changes if you are interested. Also, vaginal discharge can be from sexual arousal, as the vagina is self-lubricating and some of this discharge can be seen on your underwear. The white stuff you describe can be any of these things.

Great news on a negative pregnancy test. Your period can be late for any number of reasons. Give it a week, and write back if it has nit started yet. Some women can even miss a period one month, and this can be normal.

I assume that you are having unprotected sex? Are you using any type of birth control (the pill, condoms, etc)?

Since you did not mention either way, I assume you are not using protection. Anytime you have unprotected sex, even the day after your period ends, you do have a chance for pregnancy (regardless of the timing in your cycle, unless you are tracking every day and can pinpoint your most fertile days...something many women are unable to do because of irregular cycles).

Since you have missed your period, you can take a home pregnancy test to know if you are pregnant or not.

We wish you the best--please let us know what the results are, and if we can help.
