Hello.
My name’s Melody and I’m 20 years old.
I suffer from anxiety, and panic attacs and have been treated with both a therapist and a psychiatrist who prescribed me medicine.
My anxiety is expressed by me not being able to take deep breaths, or at least makes it feel as though.
Anyways, the past couple of days I have been sick (the cold, probably) and woke up in the middle of the night fairly snotty and sneezing like a crazy person lol. And since I didn’t sleep very well I was convinced that I woke up due not being able to breathe, which is very dangerous and never happened to me.
I am scared... i know it’s probably the anxiety taking but, you know...

Guide

Hello, Melody! Thank you for posting today.

When you have a cold it's not uncommon to wake up feeling congested which can cause you to feel as though you can't breathe. Having panic attacks can enhance this feeling. Try sleeping propped up with a few pillows until your cold eases. Take something for congestion before bed (if you can) to clear your nasal passages. It's likely that's all it was. But if it makes you feel better, you can speak to your doctor about it.
