Begins with tingling and/or itiching and/or burning and pain, followed by a red spot. No broken skin, completely under the skin. It lasts for several weeks. The skin dies from under the surface and then peels. Have seen every kind of doctor- my general practiciner, internist, neurologist, dermatologist, pediatrist, orthopedist, chiropractor, holistic, rolfer, physical therapist, acupuncture. I am in great health, don't drink, smoke, or do drugs, exercise daily, eat well. They come and go, and I've never been able to relate their coming and going to any specific time of year, or work or life events.

Hi,
Well, if all those specialists could not make a diagnosis, I don't think I can.
Where do these blisters appear on your toes?--upside, between toes or underside?
Here is a thought-- if you have sciatica and are experiencing numbness or muscle weakness along the nerve pathway in your leg or foot, you may be experiencing injury to your toes without realizing it. What I mean by that is, you may be putting more pressure on your toes when walking, shoes may be too tight but you don't feel the tightness because of the numbness. etc..This is referred to as pressure necrosis. Pressure causes destruction of the cells by constricting blood flow.
