For about the past 6 months I have a brown discharge (enough to wear a pad) lasting for about 5-6 days before my period starts (which last for about 4-5 days, heavier lately) and then another 5-6 days of more brown discharge (enough to wear a pad) afterwards. Married, 29 years old with 2 children (4 and 1 yo), no history of any illnesses, etc. Just concerned since this is new.

Thank you for your question and welcome to Empowher. I would certainly have this checked by your physician as this has been continuing for several cycles now. Usually brown discharge is the lining of your uterus shedding…but your situation seems drastic and therefore, I would certainly be concerned and seek medical assistance.
Can you please keep us posted on what your doctor tells you?
