I am 50 years old never had a mammogram need further testing until this year. I have very dense breast so they did another mammogram and ultra sound and found several spots just in my left breast, one was a mass near my chest wall. It was suggested that I get a second opinion and a biopsy. I went for my second opinion and the doctor said he didn't see anything at all. He said either way i will have to come back in 6 months for another mammogram but Now I am more confused than I was before the second doctor I truly don't know what to do. I am in my second year of menopause. I have a family history of breast cancer, lung cancer and colon cancer.

Hello, and thank you for sharing your question.
I am glad to hear that you had extensive examinations. These tests confirmed that the density in your breast is due to menopause and is not harmful.
The second test you have will make sure that the lump is still benign. As long as you do not have tumors or cancerous tumors, you do not have anything to worry about. The test confirmed that you do not have these things.
During menopause your estrogen fluctuates and that is the main cause for dense breasts.
Let us know if you have any more questions.
