can i still get pregnant if i stopped taking my pills

so i pretty much take my pills everyday at around 9 pm but one night i had unprotected sex and did not take my pill because i forgot and the next day i started to get a little pinkish spotting so i figured it was my period coming ( because it had not come for the last two months and i tested negative ) and sure enough it was my period so i did not continue to take my pills . But now is it possible i could be pregnant? i missed the pill within my first week of the package

Hi Anonymous,

Thank you for your question. There is always a possibility of pregnancy even taking the pill as there is no 100% guarentee that you will not become pregnant even on the pill. If you already had a period, I think it is highly unlikley that you are pregnant but you will have to wait until you actually miss a period to test positive for pregnancy (that is, if you are).

Another suggestion would be to make an appointment with your doctor to have a blood test taken. I hope this helps but unfortunately, time is sometimes the best measure.
