I had surgery for a chiari malformation type 1. After a month I started with dizzy spells and then black outs which I had four of them and then tremors. It mention only once about a posterier fossa cyst. But I read it is related to the dandy walker family. Can you tell me your opinion.

Hi Edward and thanks for your question.

While headaches are the most common symptom for those with an Arachnoid cyst involving the posterior fossa, many people also experience tremors.

You said that your surgery was for Chiari Malformation type 1. You may find this Fact Sheet from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke on Chiari Malformations to be helpful.

Since you mentioned Dandy Walker Syndrome, you can find more information from the Fact Sheet on Dandy Walker Syndrome.

We are not able to provide you with a medical opinion on your condition. You will need to research the information and then talk with your medical provider who will be able to help you based on your medical history, diagnostic test results and other information.

Hope these references are helpful for you.

Best,

Pat
