after having intense pelvic pain for 3 years and thinking i was going mad i was finally diagnosed with endometriosis, total fallopian tube blockage, ovaries were stuck together it had grown everywhere. i was given a hysterectomy and was a completley new woman afterwards. i have been on 2mg oestragen since then as i was only 40 years at the time. now im experiencing the same pain low in the right side pelvic area, though i must admit not as bad.my stomach has also swollen quite big this happened before. i read because im on hrt the endrometriosis can still grow, is this true?

Anon - Yes, endometriosis can return after having a hysterectomy. This article in which physicians discuss the situation provides a lot of information. http://www.endometriosiszone.org/display.asp?page=congress_ISGE2004_hysterectomy

Are you able to get in to see your gynecologist to discuss this? It would be best to seek treatment, and expert advice, as soon as you can. Please let us know what you learn and how you're doing.

Take care,
Pat
