My period started Wednesday July 27 and ended the following Monday/Tuesday. My byfriend and I had sex Friday morning unprotected and he accidentally finished completely inside me. Two hours after the incident, I took the Next Choice pill and as directed took the second pill 12 hours later. I am 20 years old. What are the chances that I will be pregnant?

August 22, 2011 - 5:39pmWait and see what happens. This discharge may be the start of a period. Taking Next Choice will cause changes in your period. Again, if you don't get a period in the next few days and you are still concerned, call your doctor.

August 19, 2011 - 5:35pmSince you took Next Choice within the recommended time, you probably are not pregnant. Emergency contraceptives can cause changes in the menstrual cycle, such as periods come earlier or later or lighter or heavier.
For peace of mind, call your doctor. Tell him or her what has been happening. Your doctor can decide if you need to be seen, if you need to have a blood or urine pregnancy test done or if Next Choice side effects are the cause of your symptom.

It's been exactly 15 days since the incident. I haven't had any bleeding or symptoms that are pregnancy like, but today I noticed a sticky dark brown discharge. What could this mean?

Someone also told me that if there isn't any bleeding after two weeks I am most likely pregnant...it's been two weeks. Should I be expecting?
I don't really think I have any "symptoms" thus far of being pregnant, either. No vomiting, no sore breasts, and I'm not fatigued throughout the day.

Hey guys, it's been officially two weeks and I've had no signs of spotting or bleeding. Yesterday, (I know this will sound gross) after urinating, I noticed what looked like possibly uterine lining shed in the toilet bowl.
Is this normal? I'm still so worried of being pregnant.

When taken as directed, it is very effective in preventing pregnancy. Next Choice contains levonorgestrel, a hormone used in birth control pills. The dose of the levonorgestrel in Next Choice is higher than in a single birth control pill. It works by preventing the release of an egg from an ovary (this is ovulation ), the fertilization of an egg by a sperm and the attachment of the egg to the uterus (this is implantation). I hope that I have explained things for you so that you can calm down and get some well deserved sleep:)

You may notice menstrual changes (such as spotting or bleeding prior to a period). Your next period could be heavier or lighter, or earlier or later.

I am not understanding what your question is referring to. Are you asking if you are fertile in general, or if the timing of unprotected sex was within your "fertile time of the month?"
There is no "safe" time to have sex in a woman's cycle, in other words, you need to consider every day as a possible "fertile day". I can explain more in-depth if you are curious, but wanted to make sure that was your question.
Basically...you will need to wait until your next period before knowing if the emergency contraception was effective.
