My chest feels bruised from the inside. If I turn to the side or breath out the pain increases. Feeling an aching pain like a bruise. What could be causing this...

Hi Anon,

Have you had any trauma to your chest area? Any health condition or other information that you can provide us with to best help answer your question?

If the chest pain gets worse before I can respond to you again, please see your doctor or go to your emergency room.

In health,

Rosa

No, no trauma or any other history. Just today it started. About five hours ago. If I move a certain way or breath out it feels sore like a bruise right in the center of my chest over sternum.

Dear Anonymous,

For your safety, please go to your doctor or nearest hospital to be evaluated. Chest pain that is sudden is definitely something that should be checked out. Sometimes stress can cause a sharp pain right above the sternum and this may be the cause of your chest pain, however, you should still be seen by a doctor.

Good Luck,

Rosa
