Q:

Chord in my vagina that catches on tampons?

Whenever I try to remove a tampon during my period, it gets wrapped around a chord that is attatched somewhere in my vagina. It comes out part way when I remove my tampon, and I can see that it looks like a part of my body, and it's very painful. I feel like this is not normal, could anyone tell me what it could be?

Hi Anon,

Welcome to EmpowHER.  Do you have an IUD? Or Sometimes fiber can come off the tampon and the natural cleansing process of the vagina naturally gets rid of it and also Vaginal relapse, vagina itself may begin to prolapse, or fall, out of their normal positions. I feel this is not normal and it's important for you too see your doctor right away.

Best,

Daisy
