When I forget things easily like keys or anything that I happen to leave somewhere and I can’t remember where I left it.,.could this be a sign of dementia?

Hello Anon

Thank you for writing.

There are many reasons for forgetfulness, including dementia.

Pregnancy, menopause, insomnia/poor sleep quality, hormonal disorders, depression, poor diet, ADD and ADHD can all cause forgetfulness. You haven't mentioned your age but dementia isn't often seen in people under 50 and it's unusual in people in their 50s and 60s. If any of the above causes make sense to you, talk to your doctor.

Best,
Susan
