I have been on bc for over 3 years and never had brown spotting before but I did yesterday. I did forget a few pills before my sugar pills three weeks ago and I had sex with my bf four days before my period which only lasted two days could I be pregnant?

August 3, 2011 - 4:33pmSorry, that was my mistake. Still, missing one or two doses will upset hormone levels which will cause an irregular period. This can be the cause of a short period in July and spotting on August 1.

August 2, 2011 - 4:05pmWhen did you have the 2 days of vaginal bleeding? How soon after did you have brown spotting? It is very likely that the change which you noticed was the result of missing 3 daily doses of an active birth control pill. The way to confirm pregnancy is to tale a pregnancy test. A home pregnancy test is usually done after a period is late by one week. A blood pregnancy test can be done as early as 11 days after conception.

I didn't miss 3 pills just like 1 or two and not in a row. I started my period on the july 20th and it was gone the july 22nd. And I started spotting august 1st (yesterday).
