Hi,
I am new to this forum and hope to get some kind of idea of what is going on with me. My question is, I have started my period on 03/02 and it ended 03/08. It was different than my other menstrual cycles. I had more spotting than a flow of blood. It resembled the dripping of an eyedropper dripping onto the pad, best way to describe it. On the first day I had light brown spotting and no flow that day. Second day it was a light flow but did not fill up my pads throughout the day. I also experience cramping on that day too. (Normally during my cycles, my first or second days will be a heavy flow but there was none this time). Third day the same thing, spotting, and I passed out a blood clot about the size of my pinky in length later that day (sorry did not mean to get personal). On fourth day more spotting red blood no filling of pad. It stopped on the sixth day where the blood turned brown and later cleared up. Now three weeks ago after my last menstrual, I had experienced itchy and sore nipples before this recent period started. I heard that when women have itchy nipples that it was a sign of pregnancy or an impending period. I took a pregnancy test on 02/28 and it was negative and I have not taken another one yet. During those weeks I had protected sex but on one of those days without one. I had unprotected sex on sunday before my period started on 03/02. My question is, for someone to have unprotected sex on one day, how long does conception takes place? Could it be possible that I couuld be pregnant or could it something else? Thanks.

Hi Simms81,
Welcome to EmpowHER. It all depends if you had unprotected sex during your fertile days. Most women ovulate between day 11-21 of a cycle. Since your last period was on 3/2, you might have tested too early. You will need to take another test around the time your period is due or see a doctor for bloodwork.
Best,
Daisy
