Q:

Could pregnancy still be possible?

I engaged in sexual activity almost two months ago, got my period on time last month. Since then no known activity that could lead to pregnancy; took a pregnancy test anyway because period was due yesterday. It was a clear blue test, I peed on the stick part and it turned pink, then I HELD the test in my hands, watched the urine fill up into a negative result. The problem is that I held it when the directions clearly said place on a flat surface. Did I completely screw up? Or is it safe to say I am not pregnant? Thanks

Guide

Hello and welcome to EmpowHer,
It is important to follow the instructions exactly in order for the results to be accurate. However, it is also important to wait until after a missed period to take a pregnancy test unless you take an early response test.
Below I have posted a link to a HER article that talks more about the accuracy of pregnancy tests:

I hope that helps.
