Hi Anon,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thanks for your question! Some studies have shown that 4,000 International Units (IUs) of vitamin D3 is safe and beneficial for patients with chronic hives. However, this amount is considered a “high dose” and the National Institute of Medicine's upper safe limit for adults. Too much vitamin D is toxic and potentially lethal. Please consult with your doctor to determine whether Vitamin D3 is right for you and the appropriate dosage.
