Difference in broken hip surgery and replacement surgery

Broken hip surgery is often called "hip pinning." Screws are inserted to help the bone heal and come together again. You will still have your real bones/joints.
A hip replacement is where the upper femur and the socket in your pelvic bone is removed and fitted with prostheses.
