Endometrial Polyp

Hi,

I had a hysteroscopy on 17th Jan 2015, to remove polyps from my uterus lining.

I then went back for another ultrasound and the doctor say a large polyp 1cm in size -on March 1st.

My question is can polyps grow back so fast - I am trying to conceive.

I have spoken with my doctor and she said she has looked at my scans after the opeation, and the polyp after the operation wasn't there. Can a polyp grow back so fast in 1.5 month? or could she have missed it

So this leads me to my second question, if its growing back so soon, then are there any medicines to prevent this from happening? My doc says there

Hi Anon,

Thank you for sharing your question with the EmpowHER community.

It's hard to say what the rate of growth is for a polyp, but perhaps when you had the first polyp removed the second one had not progressed to a point to be detected by the ultrasound.  It sounds like that is what your doctor discovered after looking at your scans.

There are some medications that may shrink uterine polyps and symptoms usually recur once you stop taking the medication.

Here is some more helpful information:

I hope this help.

Be well,
