I am 47 years old woman. Having 3 children. My Doctor advised me to have total Abdominal hysterectomy (uterus & cervix) without ovaries. I don't have bleeding. Do i have any chance to other option? Do cervix make problem after removing it?

Hi Omyoyo,
Thank you for posting! Usually, if you are free from cancer, your doctor may suggest a total hysterectomy as a last resort. However, if you do not plan on having anymore children this is sometimes considered as a prophylactic approach. The biggest complaint that women who have had a total hysterctomy have is that they go into menopause-- if your ovaries are left in place then you may or may not go into menopause earlier than expected. If they are removed then you should expect to go into menopause shortly after surgery.
