hiatus hernia/ hiatal hernia, should I operate or not?

Hi!
Since last October I was diagnosed with ulcer, gastrites, reflux problem and hiatus hernia. I started to take Omeoprazol, and after some time it finally started to help me against my pains. Since the last few months I got a kind of dry throat and a feeling like there is constantly a piece of something in my throat. Besides that I got a bad taste in my mouth, 24 hours a day. Why do I have all this? Anyway to treat it? And what about the hiatus hernia, should I operate or not? If so, is it a complicate operation?
