I had unusual heavy bleeding before 4 days of my period due date.

The bleeding was not like the usual one i have during my periods. It was like the bleeding i got when my finger got cut. The bleeding was a clear blood whithout any brownish or yellowish or redish discharges. Yet i had a little cramps and a back pain which wasn't as bad as i usual have during my periods. I also felt dizzy and tired when i waiked for one minute or less, which i never had during my usual periods too. I tested for Random blood sugar (RBS), and the result was 12,5 which is pretty normal.

The second day, i got the usual bleeding i have during my period.

My question is: is this unusual bleeding signs of something i'm not aware of?

I'm 24 years old. My periods were prettey normal and regular since i was 11 years old. I had a miscarage 2 years ago in the 4th week, after 6 months of the incident i took Birth-control pills for year and a half. now i have been off pills for six months during which my periods was regular and normal. And I want to be Pregnant as soon as possiple. =)
I hope you can help me.

Hello again,
I don't think you have anything to worry about. Using 2 sanitary pads for an entire day is not too much. It is not a sign of a hormonal imbalance. I suspect you had a heavy and early start.

Thank you for your reply.
I used 2 pads that day. I'm just worried if that was a sign of some unbalanced hormones. I hope it is just normal. =)

Hello Anonymous,
I can understand your concern. But, I don't think it is something to be too worried about. The unusual bleeding preceded your period and lasted only one day. Just how heavy was it? How many pads or tampons did you fill and use that day?

Wait and see what happens with your next menstrual cycle. Make note of how many pads or tampons you use each day. This will help you better communicate with your doctor, should you need to consult him or her.

Sometimes, a woman may experience heavier bleeding on the first day of her period, or her period may start earlier one month. This is normal and nothing to be worried about.
