The first suggestion to get rid of rectal odor is to wash the area well with warm water and soap. You should wipe well and wash with warm water and soap after every bowel movement.
If this does not correct the problem, I suggest you schedule an appointment for a rectal examination. Your physician can see if there is a medical problem, such as an anal fissure or external hemorrhoids that may be the cause of the odor.
