Is it really just a matter of leaving it alone or is it more serious?

Hi Anon,

Nose bleeds are very common and when they happen spontaneously it is usually because of a blown blood vessel. However, it seems as though the cause of yours is due to dryness and picking. Stop picking your nose. Unless you stop, the bleeding will continue. Spontaneous bleeding that occurs frequently should be evaluated by a doctor but in your case, all you have to do to stop the bleeding is to stop picking at it, no matter how tempted you are. To help relieve nasal dryness, apply a water-based lubricant to your nostrils and increase the humidity in your home or room.

All the best,

Rosa
